Reflection of the day - Sunday

Forgiveness

Sharkies Beach - The view at the end of our street.

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
Luke 23 : 34

The most powerful of human experiences is to give or to receive forgiveness.
When we forgive .......

We choose the goodness of the other over their faults.

We experience God’s goodness flowing through ourselves.

We experience our own goodness in a way that almost surprises us.

  3. Real forgiveness, never comes easily, but through a long process which can last for weeks, months..or years. I love the image you added here!

  4. Yes Amen Amalie - your words are definately so very true. Some I am still working on after many weeks, some for decades - definately hard to do and such a burdon!

This is taken at the end of the street - it is where I take the dog every morning - so beautiful. I will be posting a reflection each day this week with photos of course. Thanks for dropping in and your comment!!

  8. hey Millli and thanks - that is where I took all the photos of the wildflowers a few weeks back - not much colour there now as you can see. Man what a nail biting finish that was but a good match - France played like France for once in this tournament and great to see the dissapointment on thier faces at the loss!!!!! :))))))))) Last week to me was the final against Australia but this week was a surprise. I did not expect France to play so well after the rest of their games in the tournament! I would have had a lotif forgiving to do if the AB's had lost!!! Not sure I could hahah

  10. Great blog Keith, lovely photo and walk for sure! As you know ACIM takes forgiveness even deeper and says that what
we really need to forgive (and then all the details will be over and done with for good) is the whole idea
that we are humans and separate from each other....

  11. And YES, what a match it was, a real nailbiter which I think makes a lot of us forgive France for being in the finals in the first place lol...

  13. I have learned over the years Keith that the first step in forgiveness is to forgive yourself.

  14. Yes I understand what you are saying - Christianity is 'One Body' - untill we finally realise that we are One, it is 'us and them'. It is important I agree to try and see that we are not seperate - it is our supposed, seperate journey to the common goal - to realise the Oneness we are - the Body of Christ. It is the very things we need to forgive and to be forgiven for that maintain the doubts that keep us in bondage. Forgiveness = no bond = Faith

  18. Yes true enough - I think when we forgive we are in reality forgiving ourselves - I am sure you and others reading this know that it is more often the things we hate in ourselves that we cannot forgive others for - untill, as you are saying, we come to terms with our own misgivings we cannot bear to see ourselves in others . Often we cannot see that we are like others we cannot forgive.
