I liked the rear shot the best - to me it expresses the Kookaburra's awareness - oneness even. That bird knew exactly where I was, as it did with everythig around him, and all while waiting on it's morning tea lizzard or crab ar maybe even a snake.
It is funny how birds like this in other parts are worth a lot of money - here they live in large groups - no need for cages when they grace our space.
What I like too is that they do not frighten easily. Not because they sense so much your intent - they just know they can fly off plus they know you might disturb a lizzard or something so they can capture it.
You are gonna see plenty of these types of shote - there are always Pelicans outside on the river. I am waiting for the shot where they glide low loke this bird but on an early morning mirrored river!! They are just insane at the way they fly like this and the speed is amazing
love the birds..had a parrakeet sitting on my shoulder the other day..it loved my red earrings..thought they were berries I think..kept trying to peck them!

ReplyDeleteThey are almost silent these Parrots. Both when flying and I cannot recall anytime I heard their call.
