Everything that is real or permanent (of God), manifest only goodness, righteousness and truth. The Spirit of God cannot manifest anger, pain, lust, cannot be cruel, vain nor spiteful, in fact nothing which is negative or not born of Love. If we see something abhorrent, to our eyes, and are full of anger, justifying anger by spouting scripture - we are not in a state of Light and Love because our fruits are not goodness, righteousness nor truth. We, in a way, use the Word of God for an evil purpose because we see with the eyes of the carnal mind and not that of the Spirit of God.
Walking as children of Light, being his hands proving* what is acceptable to God, we do not judge as we think God would/should Judge, but we are simply Being - His hands - His instrument of peace and Being in that moment, or situation, what is needed as directed by the will of our Holy and Loving Father. If you feel and express anger you are not doing Gods Will but that of the master of darkness and confusion. We are not to judge but to be lights and shine the light of truth and show evil for what it really is powerlessness in the Light of Goodness it is nothing!
*(as in the proving of dough) to rise to a specified Lightness
- to test the truth, validity, or genuineness.
This is interesting, Keith, and I agree with most of it. I'm not sure about the anger part. The bible says be angry, but sin not, It's natural to be angry and I'm sure God becomes angry with us, lots of times, Sometimes with my twisted nature, I think it's a miracle that God hadn't disposed of me beforehand. Therefore I think that he must REALLY love me!
ReplyDeleteI think it's ok to express anger, but you shouldn't say hurtful things to anyone. And if you do, the bible also admonishes us not to let the sun go down on our wrath. So no matter how angry I am with someone, come sundown the holy spirit will convict me of it, if it's a sin..and I can call said person on the phone and offer up some sort of apology, and ask for their forgiveness. I always try to adhere to that, and there are quite a few instances when I felt convicted of it, believe me.
I agree with the premise of not judging people, but it's very hard to do. We all seem to judge, in one way or another, don't we? I love the scripture that says "with what measure you mete, it shall be meted unto you, also"... meaning if you are gracious and kind to other people, they will be gracious and kind to you.
It's wonderful to see people speaking out about their faith. It's a wonderful testimony. I remember in the baptist church that I attended as a child, various people were called upon in the congregation, to stand up and give a testimony. Often times people would volunteer, but most times the preacher would just call on someone randomly, and I remember being scared out of my wits that I would be called upon. I was only 8 years old, and a brand new Christian, so I hardly knew what to say.
Now with the interweb, it is so easy to reach out to people and express your faith.
Kudos on a wonderful write!
Whenever we are doing something and not coming from Love, our body does not feel good - it is uncomfortable - uneasy, shaking etc etc. When we are angry this is how I feel - it never feels calm or like butterflies or at peace. This to me indicates that anger has nothing to do with Love. Compassion would be the closest thing to "righteous anger" (hate that expression). We fall short of perfection and we do judge and we do many things that are not Love. To be ware of what we do is a good step and we do slowly get better and better at perfecting or overcoming our fears that manifest in thing like judgment or resent, ment or whatever. I like to present Jesus to people in a non threatening way and I think many can benefit from hearing our so called testimonies - but not to ram Jesus down their throats but to show them the gentle Loving Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI like it that you feel different about the anger thing than me and I thank you!!
