Time for a change

Moving On

This is taken in front of the business - looking downstream

Well - just another few days and I will be leaving Sydney and my Job after 2 1/2 years. Man, it just seems a few months back I was writing about my moving to Sydney to start work - where does it go, time!. I am heading North again to a place called Tea Gardens which is about an hour and a bit south of my home. A friend has a small Kayak tour and accommodation business which he locks up for winter while away on extended Holidays. I am going there to rest till the end of September when he returns and open up the business while I work on finding another job and explore more of the region.

Looking Upstream

This is where I am going. It is a small backpacker accommodation - only about 12 beds but if you look through the site it will show you what a paradise it is up there so be watching out for heaps more photos from me. It is a wetlands National Park area so will be something different for me although I have spent time there previously. I am so looking forward to spending a few weeks just working on some projects and ideas I have for the future without other responsibilities preventing the flow. I will of course be out there with my camera and with time to spend on the computer, I see a few blogs and photo albums flowing onto my site.

Picture Perfect Friday - Song Title

I'm forever blowing bubbles.

This song, first published in 1919, was one of the songs I most hated of those my father used to sing. It was one of the things I rolled my eyes at my father for just the same as my daughter rolls for me for things she most dislikes!! Anyway I found a version from Oscar Peterson released in 1951 together with a small video I have made for this theme - It makes the song a bit more bearable. The first part of this video are photos taken by my friend Marco while we were on a bicycle and photo trip to the city. I hope you play and enjoy. Looking forward to seeing everyone elses photos for this weeks Picture Perfect Friday.

The music was written by John Kellette. The lyrics are credited to "Jaan Kenbrovin", actually a collective pseudonym for the writers James Kendis, James Brockman and Nat Vincent. The number was debuted in the Broadway musical The Passing Show of 1918, and it was introduced by Helen Carrington (Wikipedia

        ORIGINALLYRICS

     Verse 1

I'm dreaming dreams,
I'm scheming schemes,
I'm building castles high.
They're born anew,
Their days are few,
Just like a sweet butterfly.
And as the daylight is dawning,
They come again in the morning.

      Chorus

I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die.
Fortune's always hiding,
I've looked everywhere,
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

      Verse 2

When cattle creep,
When I'm asleep,
To lands of hope I stray.
Then at daybreak,
When I awake,
My bluebird flutters away.
Happiness new seemed so near me,
Happiness come forth and heal me.

      Chorus : Repeat

Photo of the Day - July 18 2011

Energy

This is a photo that really appeals to me - not sure if it does for you too but I like the activity and the energy of the inividuals in this photo - each seems to have a world happening around them either solitary or together with another or others. In particular I like the boy at the end all alone looking out to sea and the girls playing on the rock next along from him. I have cropped them out again and placed it below.

To me this one looks more like a picture from a comic book

Thanks for looking.

album from morning july 13th

Photo of the Day - July 13 2011

Red Sky in Morning.......

It was just magic this morning on the early morning walk. These photos just part of it. How those young surfers do it I have no idea but at 6.45 am there they were in the freezing air and water, paddling about to catch the first of the days sets! No way you would get me with one layer less of clothing let alone in a wet suit and surf!!

This was the way the day greeted us with it's crimson sunrise. Who cares about shepherds warnings when you have skies like this to enjoy!! There are a few other photos from the morning that you might enjoy to see in the attached album.

Photo of the day - July 12 2011

Early morning at Rainbow!

It is days off from work again and am up home. Up early and bed early at the moment with the days so short and so so cold. Above is an early morning shot taken on Rainbow beach, one of the beaches that grace my home town, Bonny Hills. It is one of a few I have taken
over the last few days which you can see in the attached album of photos. I have had an eye this trip for flowers from the surrounding nature plus some photos of the mood of the sea. After photographing the city for the last few years it is nice to be let loose camera in hand in an environment I just love to photograph. Anyway I hope you enjoy this little photo shoot of mine from around home.

I would recommend you use the slideshow to view the album.
